Keep Renting Right

Renting in Scotland is changing and everyday we help tenants and landlords navigate this. Recently, we've seen an increasing number of tenants seeking advice about how to manage rent on top of the increased cost of everyday essentials such as energy, food and fuel. We are also seeing landlords who are facing pressure to manage higher mortgage payments.

Having a safe, secure and sustainable home is of foundational importance and we want everyone to know that the Citizens Advice network in Scotland is here for you, with free, confidential and impartial advice.

The Cost of Keeping Warm: Lived Experience of Energy and Vulnerability in Scotland Pilot

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) received funding from SGN (Scotland Gas Networks) to provide policy insight and expertise on vulnerability in the context of fuel poverty and the just transition to net zero. The research was carried out with a focus group of CAB advisers and the launch of the Lived Experience of Vulnerability pilot during which four CAB clients were interviewed on matters relating to their lived experiences of fuel poverty.
