Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland.
This vacancy is for an Information Officer working part-time for 17.5 hours per week (our standard full-time hours are 35 hours per week).
The full-time equivalent salary for the role is £24,000 - £26,000 per annum, (£12,000 - £13,000 pro-rata for part-time hours) and candidates will be appointed commensurate with experience.
The successful applicant will join a team of experienced Information Officers who produce two comprehensive and regularly updated web-based information systems, one for advisers in Citizens Advice Bureaux in Scotland, and one for the general public.
The Information Officers ensure that the information systems are kept up to date and relevant by writing new information material, mainly based on Scottish legislation, and by researching and making amendments to meet regular production deadlines.
The successful applicant will be able to analyse complex information quickly and accurately, and communicate the important aspects clearly and concisely in writing. They will be able to work on their own initiative yet be flexible enough to contribute to helping the team to meet its objectives.
This post will also interact with the Policy and Public Affairs team, in order to ensure the two information systems link effectively and are updated in light of relevant policy and campaigning work.
The post is based in Edinburgh, although occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.
