More about the job
Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. Our service continues to grow and expand, and we are now excited to be able to announce a further position attached to the food insecurity agenda to help us achieve our vision of “A better life for the people of Fife”.
Food insecurity occurs where people no longer have reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable nutritious food. This post will partner with Glenrothes Foodbank, helping improve the financial circumstances of those using their emergency food services and providing a sustainable path out of food insecurity.
The successful applicant will deliver an income maximisation service to clients accessing the Glenrothes Foodbank service, providing personalised income maximisation advice and support. This service will include assessing welfare benefit entitlement, budgeting assistance, and information on banking services and affordable credit. The service will also actively refer both internally and externally where further issues are identified eg debt issues.
To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals, a can-do ethos and a willingness to take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of the project.
