CAS welcomes the CMA’s headline provisional recommendation that heat networks should be regulated – which is the key ask from our ‘Different Rules for Different Fuels’ research last year. As we highlighted, district heating consumers do not have the same protections afforded to consumers of gas and electricity, and regulation is crucial to build trust in the sector as it grows in line with Scottish and UK targets.
