More about the job

About the job

An exciting opportunity, funded by Safe Deposit Scotland, has arisen to join our expanding team of around 27 paid and 21 volunteer staff to further develop services across Clackmannanshire. Clackmannanshire Citizens Advice Bureau, based in Alloa, is an independent and innovative organisation which has been providing a free holistic advice and support service to the local community for over 50 years. In the last 12 months we dealt with over 33,800 issues. We are accredited by Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers for Housing, Debt and Benefits at Type III.

We are looking for a self-starting motivated individual to work under the new project, Clackmannanshire Landlord and Tenant Advice Mediation and Support Service which has a significant emphasis on education of both tenants and landlords. The adviser will help private tenants to remain in their current property through the provision of income maximisation, debt advice, energy efficiency advice, mediation and representation in courts and tribunals, where required. Budgeting and money management skills will also be provided by the adviser to empower private tenants to manage their budget effectively.

It is essential that this role contributes to the development of good working relationships between landlord and tenant within the area. To encourage good practice, landlords will be offered specialist advice relating to property condition, safety requirements, deposits, anti-social behaviour, arrears and eviction. In addition, the adviser will be responsible for the development of a local Private Landlord Forum.
