Consumer Futures Unit Consultation Response: The European Commission’s Revision of the Drinking Water Directive (RECAST 2017)

The proposed recast of the Directive offers important opportunities to improve access for consumers to safe drinking water. If implemented effectively, access to drinking water for all consumers, the provision of better and available consumer information, and the inclusion of robust redress processes could result in stronger and more empowered consumers, better service provision and improved access to safe drinking water.
