The Markets and Systems policy team at Citizens Advice Scotland puts consumers at the heart of policy and regulation in the energy, post and water sectors in Scotland. We work with governments, regulators and business to put consumers first, designing policy and practice around their needs.
Our advocacy work is evidence led and we use a combination of independent research and evidence from the Citizens Advice Network in Scotland to speak up for consumers.
The report summarises our activity and our impact in 2018-19. It can take time for the real-world impacts of our advocacy work to be realised. The outcomes from our work are therefore often the culmination of many previous years’ worth of activity, and we report here what has been achieved as a result of our sustained work.
Through this publication we report on both programmed and responsive work that we have undertaken.
It also reports on the activities of the Extra Help Unit, which offers key advocacy services to vulnerable consumers across GB.
