Post Office Banking Consultation Response

CAS's response to the UK Government's consultation on developing the banking and financial services available at the PO.

Citizens Advice Scotland welcomes the opportunity to respond to the UK Government‟s consultation on developing the banking and financial services available at the Post Office. Bureaux across Scotland report of clients who find it difficult to open a bank account and who would benefit from increased banking services offered by the Post Office network. In 2008/09, Scottish bureaux dealt with 15,118 credit and finance related issues including problems with banking services (excluding debt), resulting in 58 consumer finance issues being dealt with by bureaux every working day of the year.
