About the job

Angus Citizens Advice Bureau (SCIO) is an independent advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. As a member of the Citizens Advice network in Scotland, Angus CAB offers quality services to local communities whilst being committed to advocating for change within society.

Since its establishment in 1985, Angus CAB, through its team of volunteer advisors, supports individuals with a number of enquiries each year, whilst project staff provide specialist support on topics including social security, debt, utilities, NHS concerns & complaints and support for the armed forces and their families.

Angus CAB is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Chief Officer with experience of effectively managing people, to be responsible for the overall operational and strategic management of the organisation.

We are embarking on an exciting period of change and the Chief Officer, with the support from the Board of Trustees, will lead on coordinating a new strategic planning process. This process will ensure that the voices of staff, volunteers, people that use the service, and other key stakeholders are listened to as we shape the future of the CAB to ensure it is equipped to meet the needs of the people of Angus. The process will include exploration of different models of advice provision to ensure the organisation remains accessible to people throughout Angus.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant recent experience in leading and delivering on strategic plans. They will also evidence strong interpersonal qualities and with effective experience in change management.

Applicants should also be able to evidence strong analytical skills as well as good financial management. A good communicator with the ability to negotiate and persuade, the successful candidate must also be able to develop and maintain relationships with statutory and non-statutory partners and funders.

Angus CAB offers excellent terms and conditions, including a total of 25 days leave plus 10 public holidays and a pension scheme with a 10% employer contribution. Angus CAB is an inclusive employer considering flexible working arrangements where appropriate.
