There are 2 x permanent Policy Officer roles being advertised.
One role is full time at 35 hours per week and one role is part-time at 28 hours per week. Please specify in your application which role you wish to apply for, or if you wish to be considered for both.

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland. The Citizens Advice service helps hundreds of thousands of people resolve their problems each year by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers. Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) works in partnership with Scottish bureaux to ensure an effective quality service for all citizens in Scotland.
The role of the Policy team is to effect changes which benefit CAB clients by influencing policy and decision makers in government, the public and private sectors, and the media to ensure legislation and policy is framed in the best interests of CAB clients.
The successful candidates will have demonstrable experience in the above areas, have at least two years’ experience in a similar role and relevant qualifications or equivalent professional experience. Specifically, they will be able to analyse documents and statistics; produce effective submissions, reports and briefings; and communicate confidently with a variety of individuals and groups.
Finally, they will have an understanding of the policy-making process at local, Scottish and UK government level, and experience of working in partnership with other organisations with common concerns.

Citizens Advice Scotland is the national umbrella body that provides support services for Scottish citizens advice bureaux and collates client case evidence to shape policy in Scotland and the UK. In particular, CAS:
- Provides a range of services and the best possible advice and support to its member bureaux to meet the needs of existing and potential clients
- Sets quality standards and audits bureaux compliance with these standards
- Is the voice of the CAB Service in Scotland and its clients to raise the profile of the service and make changes to social policy.
