More about the job

About the job

This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in an influential organisation that campaigns for a fairer Scotland where people are empowered and their rights respected.

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland. The Citizens Advice service helps hundreds of thousands of people resolve their problems each year by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers.  Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) works in partnership with Scottish bureaux to ensure an effective quality service for all citizens in Scotland.

The Campaigns Officer is part of the Community Action Team which sits within Policy and Public Affairs.  Its purpose is to support local citizens advice bureaux (CAB) to take action on the issues which matter to their clients and to develop national campaigns which help improve the lives of people across Scotland.

The successful candidate will take the lead on our key campaigns. They will do this by working with colleagues in our Policy and Research Teams to identify the big issues which we need to change, with our Communications Team to promote our policy asks, with our information Team to increase public understanding of the issues, and critically with the bureaux network to ensure meaningful and effective opportunities for volunteers and advisers to engage in campaigning initiatives.

You’ll build relationships with our members and key external stakeholders working with them to develop and promote mutual campaign objectives. In doing so, you will anticipate, respond to and seek to exceed the expectations of these key stakeholders.

You’ll ensure high levels of accuracy in your work, paying attention to detail and ensuring tasks are completed on time in often challenging timescales.

We offer excellent terms and conditions of employment including 30 days annual leave and 10 public holidays, flexitime and a pension scheme.
