Consumer Tracker Survey 2017

The Consumer Futures Unit's inaugural consumer tracker survey reveals some of the experiences and habits of consumers of energy, post and water services in Scotland.

The findings of the report include:

  • Scots who are disabled or who live in rural areas are more likely than others to struggle with energy bills;
  • Over half of Scots who have had problems with the postal service in the last year did not complain about them;
  • More than 60% of Scots support higher charges to improve water and sewerage infrastructure, while 40% do so to support those less well off.

The CFU intends to repeat this survey every year to track Scots’ consumer habits and behaviours in these three markets.
