CAS and Citizens Advice response to CMA provisional remedies in the energy market

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is conducting an inquiry into the energy industry. The CMA published its provisional findings and a set of provisional remedies in July 2015.

There were 18 remedies identified covering the roles of Ofgem and the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the operation of the retail market and switching - including the introduction of a safeguard tariff for disengaged customers who find it difficult to switch, and the operation of the energy industry as a whole.

This publication is a joint response from CAS and Citizens Advice to these provisional remedies.
