National Consumer Week is upon us. This year across the UK the theme is electrical goods. As mobile phone issues feature so highly in the consumer advice helpline CAS have decided to focus more specifically on mobile phone issues. The campaign officially runs between 28 November - 4 December but CAS are encouraging CABx and our partners to run events throughout December.
Last year 39 CAB offices took part by campaigning on social media ans showcasing materials. Many held events to talk about scams face to face with local people. Working in partnership with local agencies and making sure everyone knows what protection they have when they buy goods.
Consumer issues are a big deal, in the run up to Christmas families spend hundreds of pounds extra on family and friends. With many of the so called 'must have gifts' this year being new phones you can bet that thee will be people who need to know their rights. If you decide to take part in this year's campaign, you're helping to give people the awareness that will help them assert their rights.
